Individual Therapy for Adults

Between the stimulus and the response is a space.
In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

553651330Navigating life alone is challenging.

You have struggled for as long as you can remember. From the outside looking in, you are successful in most areas of your life and seem to have it all together.

It is a very scary thing to experience feeling that your emotions are out of control, never knowing when the next trigger will occur. Attempting to hold it together daily takes everything out of you.

Seeking help on your own is hard. Those self-help books, podcasts, courses, and anything else you can find aren’t working. You constantly feel that others will “find you out.”

There is a part of you that doesn’t believe you deserve to be happy, and that causes you to beat yourself up and feel ashamed.

Taking the first step to self-compassion/love is big.

That is the goal, after all. If you loved yourself, you would take excellent care of yourself. You would set boundaries, avoid toxic people or situations, and choose your tribe members carefully.

You would develop healthy behaviors, rituals, and routines and put yourself first because you would understand that doing so will help you function at the highest level possible and be the best version of yourself.

It’s time to trust your intuition and seek support from someone who is entirely nonjudgmental, empathetic and can help you work through the distress you’ve been struggling with all these years.

You’re here because you want to dream bigger and get more out of life. Moreover, you want to understand that what you’ve been through in life does not define you.

Individual therapy is an opportunity for self-care, catharsis, and healing – just for you. It is scary to trust when you’ve had so many negative experiences. This is a time to have someone who understands that everyone has a unique path and hence, challenges. These experiences allow us to grow and evolve.

In this safe space, you can freely explore your emotions and all the things you used to try to avoid because you understand that you must walk through them to get to the other side. You will work with someone who understands life’s challenges and knows you will find strength by digging deep. Therapy allows someone to walk beside you as you face overwhelming emotions and help to navigate you to the origins of this pain and therefore healing.

Through therapy, you can learn coping strategies to help you feel more in control over your emotions instead of feeling helpless. Practicing these strategies together will help you feel calm and empowered. You will also learn how distressing experiences impact your brain and body and understand the amazing way that your brain is working to protect you.

Ultimately, therapy offers an opportunity to find the core issues that brought you here. My job is to meet clients where they are, not where I want them to be. We will always go at your pace.

What can you expect from therapy?

We will start by building a foundation of trust – the most essential element to successful therapy. I aim to ensure you feel heard, seen, respected, and comfortable sharing your story.

Then, we will work on equipping you with many coping strategies and education while learning their importance. In addition, we will help you tune in to your body and nervous system.

Our work will be at a pace that is comfortable to you, as we unravel the distressing symptoms and core issues. We will continue with this process until you feel relief.

I would be honored to walk beside you. For more information on how I can help, please contact me today.
